Men’s Rings – Pick the Men’s Ring that’s Right for You

Traditionally, Men’s rings came in two types. You got your Class Ring and then your Wedding Ring…That was it. They were nearly always made of gold, sometimes made of silver.

Nowadays however, there are many more types of Men’s Rings to choose from, and you don’t need a special reason to wear one either.

So how do you choose the men’s ring that’s right for you?

When it comes to how thick the band of your ring should be. Here’s a simple tip to help you.
If you have THICK fingers, get a THICK band. If you have THIN fingers go for a THIN band.
Ignore this advice at your peril. Wear a thin ring with thick fingers and you look cheap, wear a thick ring on thin fingers and you look like a kid wearing his daddy’s ring.

What metal should you go for?

Well traditionally the metals used on Men’s Rings were Gold, White Gold, Platinum and Silver.
Thankfully, there are now more choices available for us to choose. The two most fashionable at the moment are Tungsten and Titanium.

Tungsten has become very popular as a metal for men’s rings as it’s highly durable, won’t scratch or dent too easily and when polished has a very masculine dark gray colour reminiscent of smoke.

Titanium has also become popular on the market. It looks like platinum but without the expense, and it is still highly durable, although not as durable as tungsten rings.

What particular metal you choose is really what looks good on you. A tip to try to stick to is to have a watch that matches your ring. So if you’ve got a gold Rolex maybe you should stick with a gold ring!

Or you could try a two-tone ring. Two-tone rings combine white gold with tungsten or gold and platinum-or whatever two metals you like. These may give you more flexibility in style and matching with existing men’s jewelry you own.

Textured surfaces are also popular. Faceted and laser matte finishes offer something different to the traditional shiny buffed finish.

Even if all he wears is a man’s wedding band, there is a much larger and more fashionable selection than the gold bands of yesterday. Jewelers are now having fun designing creations for the Men’s Wedding Ring market.
So whatever you decide on, follow these simple steps and you won’t put a foot wrong…or should I say finger!
